Today, I went out and made build-a-bears that looked like my daughter and her new boyfriend. It turns out she had been insisting that I didn't for a good reason; upon sight of his, her boyfriend screamed and fled the house. Turns out he was nearly mauled to death by a bear. FML

Why would you continue with a gift idea when someone is telling you not to? Granted, you could not have known the bear mauling bit. However, you seem like one of those annoying gift givers that buy things according to what YOU think a person should have.

I'm guessing OP couldn't bear the thought of not making the Teddy for both of them.

It's kinda creepy for you to make bears that look like your daughters NEW boyfriend ...:

...what? This is so bizarre. a) Why would you make build-a-bears that looked like your daughter and her NEW boyfriend? b) Why would you want to so badly that 1. she had to keep insisting you didn't, and 2. you went ahead and did it anyway?

#82, Seriously? Look at all the comments deriding the boyfriend for his phobia. No wonder the daughter kept her boyfriend's phobia private.

It's kinda creepy making build-a-bears as a grown woman for another couple, first off. You seem a bit too involved in my opinion.

That is ridiculous why would someone run from a stuffed bear. I understand trauma but that is a little extreme.

Why would you even do something like that? ...It's creepy.

You deserved that one! If she didn't want you to make it she obviously had a reason nobody would turn down a gift without one.

I understand it was probably very traumatic, but that's really rude of him to do. It's the thought that counts...

maybe you should listen next time.. just saying.
