Your daughter should have told you plain and simple. I'm sorry, it's not your fault you didn't mean any harm
Screaming and running out of a room over a plush bear is an overreaction. Its not like you bought him a real bear.
I agree! He needs to get a grip. A little, plush build-a-bear looks completely different from a 800 pound grizzly. I would understand this reaction if he was at the zoo and suddenly came to the bear exhibit but not over a little teddy bear dressed in clothing. Big overreaction.
There is such a thing as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which, after a traumatic event like getting mauled by a bear, affects the way you think. In this case it is very well possible that he can't stand the very thought of a bear, and something as simple as a reminder can invoke a strong reaction. There's no "getting a grip" with things like PTSD. It's not his fault. Show some sympathy, dumbass.
How do build a bears look like your daughter and her boyfriend
That's what I was thinking...
She clearly has a hairy daughter...
Zero your life sucks - Zero you deserve it? On a featured? That's a first.
I thought it was just a glitch on my app. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed it, and I didn't want to mess with it...
He couldn't bear the sight of it.
I beleave dam auto carect that it goes both ways u should of asked why she could of found the time to tell u why
What the **** did I just read?
And her NEW boyfriend? Who says they'll even be together in a month? Why waste the money?
that's ridiculous I understand fears (I have intense arachnaphobia) but that's just ridiculous for one a teddy bear is significantly smaller than a bear and to have that kind of response is a joke, and 2 if you have a fear you can tell when your looking at something fake. If I saw a giant fake spider I don't get scared I see a real.one I shit my pants lol. He CLEARLY overreacted and needs to grow a pair.
That's not intense or severe arachnophobia then. I have arachnophobia. I can't stand any spiders being near or on me. Doesn't matter if it's alive or dead, fake or real, big or small. It's taken me almost the entire 19 years of my life to not scream and completely break down at the sight of tiny baby spiders. Your phobia is not severe. He nearly died because of a bear and it's led to an extreme phobia of anything related to bears. I studied phobias as part of psychology, and it's entirely possible after experiencing a severely traumatic event like that. Just because something doesn't scare you, it doesn't mean it won't scare someone else and that certainly doesn't give you the right to judge them for it. >:( TL;DR - shut your mouth, you're dribbling bullshit all over the floor. OP, I'm sorry to say that you deserved it. Your daughter shouldn't have to tell you more than once not to get something and you should be able to tell when she means it. You shouldn't need for her to tell you something that really isn't her business to tell you just so you won't buy something she's asked you not to. :/

Why would you continue with a gift idea when someone is telling you not to? Granted, you could not have known the bear mauling bit. However, you seem like one of those annoying gift givers that buy things according to what YOU think a person should have.
I'm guessing OP couldn't bear the thought of not making the Teddy for both of them.
