I can understand that it really sucks, but I think if she at all likes you, she will pass it off as a "haha well that was a disaster but at least it was memorable" and still want to see you. and if she wasn't interested to begin with, well, this didn't make a big difference. remember in Hitch? he brought up her serial killer ancestor and kicked her off a jet ski and yet she still wanted to see him again! lol I don't think all hope is lost!

I have done that same thing with setting the oil on fire, only mine involved having to shepherd my oblivious little brother and two screeching cats out of the house. But I think if a guy I liked tried to cook me dinner and that happened it'd actually be kind of endearing, and definitely a funny story. As long as there wasn't any serious damage that would be really upsetting, I think you're fine. When you really like someone, they can do something embarrassing and you probably think it's cute, right? Women are more understanding than you think.
