Today, I went through my 15 year old daughter's internet history. On google she searched 'Excuses to get away from your dad' and 5 other variations of the same thing. We were supposed to be having a father daughter day tomorrow. FML

YDI for snooping. Give her some space -- she's growing up. ...On the other hand, though, FYL because of what you found.

More like FHL for having you snoop through her history. I bet you've got plenty of stuff you wouldn't want her to see.

YDI for invading her privacy, you nosy little shit. My dad's always doing the same thing. I've actually had to tell my computer not to keep a history so that my dad can't spy on me like that. Stop being so invasive. Instead of forcing her to go on some stupid father-daughter activity, just offer to take her to a movie. Who doesn't like movies? Maybe take her shopping at the mall. Whatever you do, don't try and spend the entire day with her. No matter how much fun a parent may be, a kid can only take so much of their parents at once. I'm pretty close to that age, so I know how tolerant a teenager can be of their parents.

maybe she feels like you bug her too much at home and wants to get away from you. or she could be a bitch. there is not enough info to say fyl or ydi.

Could have been worse. You should have found "Can you get pregnant if you ________?" or "What does herpes look like?" or "How to pass a drug test?" If the worst of your teen is that she doesn't want to spend time with you, consider yourself lucky.

Eh, teenagers generally dislike doing anything where they'll be seen with their parents - especially things like father-daughter days. It's all about letting them gain the independence etc that'll mean they won't still be living in your house at the age of 30. If you're worried, try talking to her and doing something you all might be interested in doing like planting a vegie garden or something, so that they'll still call you every now and then when they move out :)

awwwh you poor guy, quit bagging him you ****** up people

And that's why she doesn't want to hang out with you. You suffocating her, give her more space Don't watch where she goes on the internet, she will eventually somehow find out and will freak out. Invasion of Privacy. But if you don't watch her alot, and this was jst a rare thing, then that sucks. But you shouldn't feel too bad because all teenagers go through a phase where their parents annoy the poo out of them. She'll get over it. Just do little things with her, not like a huge one day event. It may be too much too soon type thing. Be like, want to get some ice cream? then Want to go on a short walk? then Want to go to the movies? Slowly move up the chain of bigger events.

This is why I'm happy my parents bought me a laptop so that I can lock it and they can't snoop around.. I'm a year older than your daughter.. I know how it feels to have parents snooping around. YDI for snooping - Give her space. But FYL for what you found.
