That sucks - you're trying to spend time with your child, and she's not interested. But don't worry, soon she'll grow out of her teenage phase and will enjoy spending time with you. And to all the commenters bitching about "omg how dare the dad check her history," you're probably just idiot teenage brats, too. Grow the hell up.
Going through your internet history just to check up on her with no reason to be suspicious is nosy. I can't think of anything more nosy and paranoid that anyone would actually do. Not doing anything inappropriate on the internet ? She's 15, she probably seen it all. Hell there is a good chance she did a lot of it. Not saying that her dad shouldn't try to prevent the latter, 15 year olds shouldn't be having sex or shooting each other or whatever you were thinking of when you said inappropriate.
" I doubt he was going through her internet history just for the sake of being nosy. He was just checking up on her" Umm, if he had no reason to be suspicious I don't see anyway you could be more nosy with her computer. unless you mean he wasn't being nosy for the sake of nosyness.....in which case no shit sherlock. "He was just checking up on her, making sure she was doing anything inappropriate on the internet, which a good parent should do. I would do the same for my children too." She's 15, not 7. I'm pretty sure most kids have seen it all by the time they're 12, and I doubt she's dumb enough to try to meet up with a stranger online......Although I really shouldn't :P . Really, what could she have been doing that's so inappropriate for a 15 year old? ****? **** is very appropriate for a 15 year old, they're horny and that relieves sexual tension (meaning less of a chance for her to do something that could ruin her life). Gore? Most As I've said, most kids have seen it all by that age.
give her some space man! as a teen myself, i'd love to get away from my parents, but only bcuz i'd rather socialize with my friends. also, most teens consider their parents ignorant and closed-minded (mind you that some of u r) bcuz they dont appreciate the things we like. stop snooping too. helps a lot.
You're just saying "everyone who disagrees with me is immature"? Damn coward
Coming from a 15 year old Daughter: Your life sucks. I agree fully. My dad and I have had a rocky relationship ever since I hit puberty it seems, and I hate it. I do not actively try to get away from him, but I will admit I really like it when I do. It's bad. A lot of the times where I want to do something that will try and help patch up the relationship (and vice versa with him wanting to help patch it up) one of us will disagree and it'll dissolve into another argument. Still, as much as I don't like him I still love him and I try to put aside differences (or similarities, as it would seem) when it comes to father-daughter time, which has been happening far too infrequently recently. I cannot say anything to help for your situation other than my sympathies in the matter. I hope she comes around sometime, and though she does need space to grow, googling ways to get away from her father is ridiculous. Best wishes.
You're like a stereotype of a 15 year old boy. Stop abbreviating the way you do and you'll at least be worth refuting directly.
yeah, well, she's a 15 year old girl. i didn't know any girls when i was 15 who weren't dumbasses. including me. so hopefully you did a decent job raising her so she's got a brain in her head and will grow out of it. but if you didn't and she doesn't, then fyl.
It's his job to protect his daughter, he's also the parent, meaning it's his choice. So all of you saying YDI for searching her history, you'll understand one day. She's 15. Congrats. At 15 I didn't have anything to hide, and if she does it sounds like she's screwed and shouldn't do crap she's not supposed to. As far as the OP goes, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully that's not what she was really looking up (because yes, google does try to guess what people will be searching). But if that is what she was searching for, then well, she's 15 and she'll understand the value of her loved ones soon enough.
ayy hole. ydi for snooping. give hercsome privacy. she's only 15 wow. glad ur not my mom
Now hold on. I have heard the ignorant, puerile, and fallacious "arguments" from these fools who think they own the universe long enough. It's time for an actual, logical argument! Number one: You are attacking ad hominim. Instead of even attempting to disprove our argument, you make gross and ungrounded generalizations, i.e. "OMG!!! I m a 15 y o grl and I wud h8 it if my dad dd tht! OMG!!!!1!!" Seriously? Someone has a little immaturity complex... Number 2: You are committing so many fallacies it's not even funny. Ever hear of logic class people? Good lord, and you call us the dumb ones. Number 3: "You'll understand when you grow up." So I'm not worth it now, or you can't summon sufficient brains enough to even know why you do what you do? Actually, a vast majority of these kind of worn-out sayings are used only when you can't explain yourselves and you don't have the balls to admit it. Grow some, bastards. My friends and I have more integrity in our vomit than you could ever fake.
Oh, and starving artist? Just because you can't seem to fathom fifteen year old girls who aren't ignorant little ***** like yourself, doesn't mean they don't exist. You call my sister a dumbass again, and I will find you.
Oh, wait, I'm fourteen. OMG WTF R U DUING ON HR INTERET HYSTIRY? WTF???!!!?/??

YDI for snooping. Give her some space -- she's growing up. ...On the other hand, though, FYL because of what you found.
More like FHL for having you snoop through her history. I bet you've got plenty of stuff you wouldn't want her to see.
