Today, I went to a restaurant and only brought $14 with me to eat. I ordered and ate my meal, then went to the counter to pay for it. I threw $2 into the tip jar then got my bill. My bill was $13.86. I had to reach into the tip jar and take my $2 back so I could pay for my meal. FML

Honestly, YDI because you need to pay more attention to the prices of what you're going to eat.

Lol why would you tip before you paid for your bill and second why would you tip at a fast food place .

I can only imagine the employees' faces lol!!! And aaawwww (:

he clearly was at an all night diner. like denny's or something. its a restaurant setting but you do have to go to the register and pay your own bill. at least you were nice enough to tip, it's appreciated.

this is why you tip AFTER you pay.

You're a bad person. Hope you learned a lesson.

you deserve that. you should never order something you can't afford.. because waiters and waitresses deserve tips.

This is why I like living in a country where the prices on the product are the prices you pay and I think that adding taxes afterwards is a strange concept. Nevertheless, who tips before paying? C'mon!

Never ever put money in the tip jar!!!

haha, blame it on the 13% GST+PST rates!

frankly, ydi for not paying first and THEN tipping when you're running a little low on cash. But, I can see something like that happening... probably not to myself, but maybe if I didn't get coffee with the meal.
