Today, I went to my boyfriend's house to meet his parents. They informed me they were lawyers throughout the meal, which explained the gorgeous house. My boyfriend excitedly told them I was promoted manager at my job. They asked where I work. I work at Burger King. FML

Today, I borrowed my mom’s BMW to impress my new girlfriend. I'd told her that I owned an accounting firm, so I had to look the part. Today was also the day someone decided to rear-end us. That someone happened to be my boss at Burger King. Let’s just say, the cat’s out of the bag and I’m single now. FML

Today, I went over to my girlfriend's house for dinner. Her parents seemed upset, so I tried to lighten the mood by saying, "Hey, at least the weekend is coming up and you guys won't have to go to work." Apparently, they were upset because they both got laid off from their jobs today. FML

My boss called me into her office and congratulated me, and spent almost half an hour asking me what our wedding plans were, where we might honeymoon, if we wanted kids, etc. She then followed this by suddenly remembering she had called me into the office to sack me. I kind of understand how you feel. If my bf's parents were lawyers and I worked at bk I wouldn't be proud of it but I also wouldn't be ashamed of it. Don't worry. Most of the embarrassment is in your head anyway. I'm sure they are happy for you. You probably make more than I do and I have an office job. Be happy that your man is proud of you.

That's a retarded thing to say. Clearly her morals were fairly arbitrary if she lost them so quickly because of a job, so she was probably de facto moral, not actually moral.

Even if it's a fast-food joint, manager isn't that bad. The only thing better is owner. You literally get paid to sit around and do nothing (unless you choose to) because you bought the restaurant.
