Haha #83. It's your fault you're still working at Burger King.
Two things: 1) You have a job. People should respect that. 2) It's their time to envy you. Lawyer's don't get promoted. ;)
I don't think that being promoted to manager at BK is such a bad thing--You have a job in a tough economy, and managed to get a promotion! Be proud of it!
how old are you? if you are 18 that is pretty cool. if you are 40 you got problems.
Hey, at least your boyfriend likes you anyway (and not for your money). This isn't really a FML at all.
Yeah, for a college student or so it's not uncommon to work this kind of job to make money, tuition doesn't pay itself after all. And a lot of parents don't care where their kids' partners work, but more like whether they're responsible and treat their child well. If you just made manager that makes you look like a responsible person with a good work ethic. Especially since BK is not exactly everyone's dream job but you applied yourself enough to get promoted anyway. So what if they have a fancy house, you don't know how they paid their way through law school in the first place...

He EXCITEDLY said you were promoted to manager. He's proud of you! YDI because it isn't bad. Don't be bummed.
Hey, you gotta start somewhere. Hopefully his parents understand that. Odds are they were in similar positions early on, too.
