Today, I went to orientation for college. They gave us a name tag and I tried to figure out how to put it on for a few minutes. After struggling with it I realized it was a sticker. FML

Today, I finally got my nametag. I had been using other people's names like Maria and Caie for a week, so I was happy to be called my own name. I put it on and got to work. Ten minutes later, I was called into the office. I got laid off. I got to wear my nametag for 10 minutes. FML

Today, I bought a new purple shirt and decided to wear it to this charity function I was going to. I thought I looked pretty good in it. Then I got home and realized I left the sticker on. I had an "XL" sticker on my boob all night. FML

Today, I was volunteering at the library. A kid came up and asked me to help him peel the back off his sticker. It took me so long the kid left. Determined, I still tried to peel it off. Fifteen minutes later, the librarian came over, looked once at it, and told me it wasn't a sticker. FML

Today, I accidentally left the tag on the new pants that I wore to work. Nobody had brought it to my attention for the whole day until finally, before I was about to go home, every single employee and my boss let me know by yelling in unison and laughing as I left the building. FML

Today, I started a new job. The supervisor handed me a badge with the name 'Rachel' on it, which is not my name. When I told her this, she responded with, "I know, but it will be easier for the customers to pronounce than your actual name." FML

Yikes, that speaks volumes to the educational system of our generation. The fact that you weren't taught how to use deduction skills at any point in your educational career is a bit scary. Good luck passing college level courses with an early elementary level of reasoning skills, OP.

Somehow, I manage to do so, even though I spend vast quantities of the day doing very dumb things. Academic ability and common sense do not spring from the same source.

Common sense an deduction skills are two different things. Common sense is knowing its a sticker. 38 said deduction skills which means they use what they know (even if it is very limited) to solve a problem. Which is something that can and should be trained and honed. Is there a pin, lanyard, tape, or glue provided? No Does anyone else appear to be using one of the previous methods? No (yea, we are on the right track) Is there clearly a paper backing on the back of name tag? Yes What do the people around you seem to be doing? Pulling something off the name tag, throwing it away, and then just pressing the name tag to their shirts. Do I know anything that has a sticky back where you can take it and just stick it to something? Post-it notes!!!!!! Wait I mean stickers!!!!!
