Today, I went to see my dermatologist friend for a free consultation on my terrible acne. During my visit, she said I probably won't be getting any more pimples. Excited, I asked her how she could tell. She replied, "There's no more room for it." FML

Today, I finally saw a dermatologist due to my unusually severe acne. Now I know I actually have a rare disorder that makes me allergic to my own acne. FML

Today, I asked my dermatologist why my acne has been getting worse, despite following her directions and spending hundreds of dollars on medicine. She just shrugged and told me they can't actually cure my acne. However, they can prescribe me a bunch of stuff and hope one works. FML

Today, I had a lady come up to me in a store just to tell me how bad my acne was and what remedies I should use. I got so embarrassed, all I could say was, "OK" and, "Thank you" until she left me alone. FML

Today, I woke up early and went to the dermatologist's, only to have them tell me that the skin condition I have that causes big, white spots to appear is chronic and I can do nothing about it. But they did give me cream for a different skin condition they found. FML

Today, my dentist kept staring at me with a worried expression while working on me. Concerned that something was wrong with my teeth, I asked her what was the matter. She replied, "I'm not a dermatologist, but you should go to a doctor, I think you have staph." She was referring to my acne. FML

Today, I discovered the effect the cream has that my mom gave me. It was for my acne and it worked, in a way. Instead of having a lot of little pimples, I now just have a few gigantic ones. FML

OP the best a Dermatologist can do for you is put you on 20mg a day (dependent on body weight) of Roaccutane. It's the miracle drug and it works - doesn't matter what people say. Take it for 6-12 months. 85% of people never get acne again. I was in remaining 15% and get a little still but use a 5% Benzol Peroxide (active ingredient in ProActiv) wash for 30s in the morning, then jump in the shower to wash it off, and salicylic acid on bad spots through the day.

Call her office and let her know that she screwed herself out of a client by being so rude. I needed 2 courses of Accutane before my skin calmed down and not once was I insulted by my dermatologist. :/

How does professionalism come into anything here? This is far from a doctor/patient situation. A friend of OP happens to be a dermatologist and sarcastically said that at least it can't get any worse. It was a joke. From a friend. Friends are allowed jibes.
