Today, I went to sell my wedding rings, due to the fact that I'm getting divorced from a man who cheated on me. The jeweler informed me that the stone in my engagement ring is fake. I won't even be able to cover the divorce costs from the proceeds. FML

Why is it that no matter who cheated, the wife's half is always the house, the car and half of what he's likely to make in the future and the husband's half is the bills, the debt and the remainder of his pay cheques? For his sake I hope he switched the ring. He's gonna need that money for a deposit on the ghetto studio apartment he will be living in for the forseeable future.

The stone may be fake, but the ring (hopefully) is 10 or 14 ct gold. Ask your "ex" if he has a certificate on that stone; there's a chance HE got swindled when he bought that ring. (Not much ... but a chance none the less.) Sorry you married an idiot.
