Today, I went to sell my wedding rings, due to the fact that I'm getting divorced from a man who cheated on me. The jeweler informed me that the stone in my engagement ring is fake. I won't even be able to cover the divorce costs from the proceeds. FML

He cheated on her and bought her a fake ring. If it was just the ring I'd say sure, try counseling. I'm the last person in the world to say divorce but if someone is cheating on you or beating you, no amount of counseling can fix that because it's totally 100% unforgivable.

I feel for ya. When I went to sell my engagement and wedding band after my divorce, they only offered me $60 for them. Guess that's what I get for marrying a loser.

I think it's great that her husband had enough sense to get a CZ ring. That stops all the gold diggers cold. The right way is to start off with a fake and then give them the real thing if it lasts past a certain number of decades. With a 50+% divorce rate, you're stupid if you give them the real thing right off the bat.

Yes because starting out your marriage with a lie is totally the way to go. Moron. If you're that worried about a gold digger, get a prenup. Legally if you split up before you tie the knot, the girl has to give the ring back to the guy and any court will make that happen. If she sells the ring, the court will make her pay him back for it. After marriage it's a different story, but that's what a prenup is for.

I would have done the same thing your ex did. if you don't have the money to buy a real one, don't buy it, nut he should have told you it wasn't real.
