Wow I would put in a serious complaint there... I'd go back and would not leave without my phone.. and piece of my mind for wasting my damn time
Print out the website page to show to the person handling lost items. If they don't know their own guidelines, now they'll have a copy for the next time someone comes to claim an item. And if they still give you a hard time, ask for the supervisor.
You called ahead to get the oK and they turn you away, thats pretty ****** up. i woulda asked for a supervisor, aint nobody have time for this..
0010 "Why will you not release my phone?" 0020 "You have not met the conditions of the Company policy." 0030 "I met the requirements of the Company policy that were published." 0040 "The published policy is not the complete policy." 0050 "Why would you not publish the complete policy if you expect others to comply with that policy?" 0060 "Company policy requires fraud prevention measures." 0070 "Well how can I get my phone back if you won't tell me what I need to do to get my phone back?" 0080 "I have told you what you need to do. You need to comply with Company policy." 0090 "I have done everything you've asked me to do, so..." 0100 GOTO 0010
Formatting, schmormatting
I wonder if you could've tripped them up by insisting that you couldn't call them anyway because they had your phone... Loophole?
OP did call ahead though.
Yea I'm not leaving without my phone... sorry
Maybe they expect you to actually write and print a letter and send it by post :-D
