Today, I went to the eye doctor. He tells me that I've developed a severe allergy to contact lenses and must stop wearing them immediately. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't just visited him a week earlier, paid for a new prescription and ordered a year's worth of brand new lenses. FML

This just happened to me, too! I'm so sorry! And no, everyone, you can't return them, no matter how unopened/unused the contacts are!

FAKE AS HELL. YOU CANNOT GET AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO CONTACTS BY NOT JUST HAVING A BAD PRESCRIPTION. It's actually nearly impossible to have allergies with contacts. just some doctor's insight!

Don't talk if you don't know anything. I just got diagnosed with the same thing a month ago. I'd been having trouble with my contacts for about two months, but I thought it was just because they were old or something. It's called contact lens conjunctivitis. Look it up. It's usually curable but it takes a while. I've been using eye drops for a month and I know my eyes are getting better, but I don't think they're fully cured yet.

she didn't say the allergy was caused by the wrong perscription, if you were really a doctor, you'd know how to read. she said the the diagnosis wouldn't have been such a big deal to her if she hand't already paid for a year's worth of new lenses and her visit to get her new prescription. jackass.

No, actually contact allergies are entirely possible. I'm allergic to multiple types of contacts. I have a severe latex allergy and also react to certain forms of silicone and such, though I'm not sure if that is what causes it or not. Within about 20 minutes of putting them in my eyes will fill with goop and swell shut. One of the new Acuvue ones was really terrible - it was either Oasys or Advanced. To the poster: try an older brand rather than the new ones. The only ones I've had luck with are Acuvue 2. If you haven't opened the boxes for the ones you already bought, you should be able to return them.

Actually there's many illness' related to contact lenses - try and perhaps use something as simple as google or wiki before proving you're retarded. Remember a very important saying "It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

Problem with that... according to my optometrist, Acuvue is discontinuing Acuvue 2. As soon as they can make colored Oasis, they're stopping it.

You are entitled to a refund for every unopened pair

I was allergic to contact; they would get all red and swell shut. I got hard contacts and haven't had any problems for the past four years. Maybe you should ask your doctor about the hard ones. They can last up to three years as long as you take care of them.

FYL. This exact same thing happened to me, so I feel your pain. And my eyes are extremely bad so my prescription isn't cheap....So we paid almost $300 for a years worth of contacts, I got to wear one pair for about a week and found out I was allergic to them. I've tried many different kinds, and still can't find a brand I can wear.

if you did 1 800 contacts they ll take em back at full price if unopened

Most online contact retailers will take back unused unopened contacts as long as they are not past expiration. I'd check with who you bought them from to see if they can be returned. I'd be surprised if they wont take them back, unless you opened all the boxes and broke up the contacts into pairs

You should be able to get a refund on the unopened boxes of contacts.

if you didnt open them you could get a refund, if youre thinking he knew and just tried to get your money, you could sue the ******.
