Today, I went to the grocery store where this really cute guy works. I swiped my card but the machine wouldn't read it. I swiped it quickly some more before getting frustrated and saying, "Your stupid machine doesn't work!" He took the card and turned it around. His face said it all. FML

Congratulations! You are EVERYTHING customer service industry workers hate.

You claim the machine is stupid, but it is YOU who is stupid.

You suck, but so does he for not noticing before you even swiped it the first time.. I work in a store, and whenever customers are about to swipe their card the wrong way, I tell them to flip it before they even do it (unless they do it too fast but I tell them after in this case) I don't wait for them to do it 10 times before making them feel like idiots.. so I guess it's not entirely your fault for being incompetant

He probably did notice, but was either waiting for him to notice or letting her continue to fail for his amusement. I gotta admit, that's gold if you got it on the security cameras.

As a cashier, I can say I've never seen someone do it that many times without trying to flip it around.

I am a cashier at Target and I see people do this all the time. There is usually a drawing on the machine. Just look at it, and if you happen to swipe it once and it doesn't work then try turning it around. Swiping it the same way a hundred times isn't going to change the fact that it is wrong.

People like you are the reason people like me have lost faith in the intelligence of my customers. I have encountered more than my fair share of customers like you. First of all if it had been an issue of malfunctioning equipment, it is not HIS stupid machine and it is not HIS fault it doesn't work. All of us in the customer service industry spend all day apologizing for things we had nothing to do with, and none of us like getting yelled at for something we can't control. In your case, you were completely in the wrong as you did not ask him, look at the little picture or realize that after swiping it 10 times you were doing it wrong. You fail. The only good thing that came of this is that the hot cashier dodged the major bullet of you and your short fuse. Rant over. Maybe not: Cashiers are people too!!

my first job was as a cashier at walmart....the worst ever was when some lady filled the belt with all of her stuff. after i rang up the total she tried her card many times. i then asked to see it. it still had the activate sticker on it so i asked her if she had ever called to activate it. she looked at me as if i had 5 heads. i told her to call the number, then wait while she went outside to the payphone bc her order was too big to void. sigh i loathe the stupid.

How many times a day does a poor cashier have to put up with that?

Omg I so want to check notalwaysright.com now to see if the cashier put up his side of the story :D
