Today, I went to the supermarket to get some Easter gifts for my kids. At the register, I was verbally abused to the point of tears by the cashier, for having way too many items for the 12 items or less lane. I had 13. FML

Complain to the manager. That's over the line.

Yeh it's only a second to scan the extra item, but it's 12 items or less, not 12 items or less or more if you want. The lane is clearly designed for the speed and ease of those of us who go in with the intention of a quick shop.. not for people who dilly dally around and hold everyone up. So annoying being held up in line by some moron who has extra items.

Sounds pretty selfish that you would have someone that has 13-14 items wait 10/15/20 minutes extra in a regular checkout lane because you can't wait 2-3 extra seconds for their items to be rung up.

So it's annoying being held up by someone with 1 extra item? How about being held up by some jackass at the register who refuses to scan something and yell abusively at a customer?

Some people just go hard by the rules.

Would be funny to find the other side of the story on notalwaysright.com ... It is could be a case of over-bitchy cashier, or one of over-sensitive customer. But 13>12, so, in all honesty, move to the normal register.

and thats why the cashier works at wal mart... probably can't count more than 5.

Serves you right. It is the 12 items or less line, not the 13 items or less line. I am glad a checkout person actually had the guts to stick up for what is right. Next time you have 13 items, go through the normal checkout, or get rid of one item.

Next time, pay for 12 first and then pay for the last item! ...the cashier shouldn't bitch about it!

I just get this sad image of you stupidly standing there. You're meekly holding a bit of chocolate and pathetically bawling as you take some whiny teen's shit. Why don't you just stand up for yourself? Flip em the bird and go to a different counter? Or tell him to shut up and check out your items before you get him fired for being a stupid jackass? Honestly....

It is a known fact that express lanes are extremely strict and unwavering in their rules about the quantity of items
