One of the few times I would actually suggest suing. I have heard stories of people drawing arrows and notes on themselves to ensure the surgeons work on the correct limb.

Hmmmm, I wonder why they are using Iodine, shaving, and using markers on the wrong Knee. I got it, they are practicing preperation :)

On the bright side, when the lawsuit is over, you'll be so rich you can buy a bunch of spare knees just in case.

To the people who are suggesting that they're lucky because they can sue: there's nothing lucky about medical malpractice. You don't know what kind of damage that did to the healthy knee. There are some things that no amount of money can fix.

hunts, I don't get why you keep getting thumbed down. I have had several major surgeries that went great but have inate horrific recoveries and awful permanent side effects. Even without malpractice adding to it, I'd gladly pay even more money to not have needed the surgery in the first place. People don't realize how valuable your health is until you don't have it.

I actually agree with hunts. I had an OB/GYN screw up a procedure that has pretty much ruined all chances of me being able to have another baby. I'd much rather have my health back than a huge sum of money any day.

It's sad when you can't even have surgery without them operating on the wrong leg.

And at least it wasn't an amputation of the leg you were going in for. I have heard of that happening, people having wrong limbs taken off. Before such procedures, there is a time out that everyone does to ensure the correct procedure, correct limb is being worked on. Your hospital ****** up royally, and I am sorry you had to pay.

How the hell do they forge surgery in the wrong knee?! Seriously, that's just awful. Hopefully the next one won't cost you anything since the doctors screwed up

Then why did they keep going?! Isn't that noticeable?

Having recently had knee surgery, the orthopaedic surgeon is required to ask which knee it is before administering anaesthetic. This is in canada mind you, but maybe something you wanna recommend lol.
