this wouls make sense if it happened at a laundry mat... but wtf.
People keep asking who would steal laundry. In my complex, if you leave clothes unattended too long then kids will eventually come hang out in the laundry room and will take your clothes just to be little jerks. They'll throw them in the parking lot, on cars, in the trash, etc. Rarely will an adult take anything, and they'd have to be complete morons to take a load of someone else's pants thinking that they owned them.
Leave a note in the laundry room asking for their return, maybe they will feel bad and bring them back. I hope that it was an accident, where there any other loads of laundry in the machine at the time? If you're at college you should report it to the RA and the landlord if you're renting an apartment.
There are cameras there. Go to the landlord, and let him look at the footage. You'll find the thief :)
thats why i always just stay and keep an eye on it.
Someone broke into a house to steal pants or into a cleaners, because if I were the robber I'd steal the good stuff, unless I was just doing it for fun to someone I hated that had not a lot of pants
That has happened to us, a lady took out all of our clean clothes and put it on top of the dirty table because we were a couple minutes late to get there and she put her clothes in it.

The real question is who in their right mind steals a whole load of men's pants?...
Tell me you own shorts.. For your sake.
