Today, I woke up to find my car broken into. After being upset for not hearing my car alarm go off I realized it had in the middle of the night. I had woken up and cursed the idiot who set off their alarm and put a pillow over my head, falling back to sleep shortly after. FML

Today, I woke up to find my car broken into. They also took the inhaler that fell out of my bag the night before. The one I needed to stop the asthma attack I had from the stress of having my car broken into. FML

Today, I got an alarm installed in my car, and was having problems with it not going off when the car was hit. To demonstrate this to the installers, I bumped my car with my hip, which left a dent, and set the alarm off. FML

Today, I went to the post office. As I entered the building, my car alarm went off. Thinking I'd accidentally pressed the alarm on my keys, I shut it off without looking. When I returned to my car, the passenger window was demolished and my purse with all my money was gone. FML

Today, I finally managed to sleep, after two days of being kept awake by the miniature floodlights my neighbors have installed to scare off burglars. Only a couple of hours into my sleep, I woke up to the sound of their car being broken into. FML

This is a common problem where most people don't know what their own car alarm sounds like or has a very generic sound. At least it went off so your insurance should handle it. Still... dumbass!

Car alarms are the most useless invention ever. Who hears a car alarms and actually thinks, "OMG A CAR IS BEING BROKEN INTO!" No one. Everything just thinks "Shut that thing off."

Get a 2-Way alarm. That way, when an alarm is going off, you know if its your car or not, because your remote will start beeping and flashing. I've got one in my car, I've had the alarm for a year and a half and its only gone off once. And when it did, it was because some drunk bicyclist ran into my car. The other good thing about them is that they give you really good range; anywhere between 1/4 mile and 1 mile, depending on what model you get

i totally agree with you!!! when a car alarm goes off, you NEVER think it's YOUR car.. the alarm systems don't work!!! and sucks about your car though.
