Depends. I have to take an online midterm tomorrow and the one thing the instructor told us is that he cannot let us retake the test if we already signed in and we had a computer problem. But it might depend on the school or class.
And this is exactly why I disable automatic updates on everything. If something wants to update, it's going to wait until it's convenient for me. On that note, since that wasn't something you could exactly prevent (if you don't disable automatic updating, windows basically takes that as a blank check to just shut down your computer whenever it ******* feels like it regardless of what you are doing) your professor should let you retake the test.
I personally dont see how 127 people think its his fault.
I have an idea. Get a Mac! Not advertising or anything but seriously they don't just randomly update like windblows 7 does.
A lot of my professors have been really understanding when it comes to things like that. I don't know what kind of school you go to; mine is pretty small and that allows the teachers to give more individual attention to students. I'd estimate the biggest class I was in was between 50-75 students and few were that big. But I feel that should be an understandable circumstance, even without something like an automatic update there are a myriad of reasons for a computer to crash, technology is wonderful but far from foolproof. I hope you can retake it op
God noob always press the update later button YDI rook
something similar happened to me and i just explained the situation to my teachers and they let me retake it, im sure your teachers will be understanding
