Politely tell her you have prior engagement with a co-worker or boss, idk and just go put with some friends, have a beer, a burger, catch a ball game... If she wants to reaarange the house let her do it on her own!

How big is your living room? That's like 10 min of rearranging tops. Although granted it is your house. Good response are: "I'll consider it" (which means no) and "No" (this also means no).

It could be worse. My MIL informed my husband last night that she has put her trailer up for sale and plans to move in with us.
