Today, it's been about a week since my boyfriend started his new medication, which has essentially killed any sex drive he had. It has also been about two weeks since I stopped mine, making me hornier than ever. FML

He needs to switch his medication. Most likely his sex drive won't come back on this medication and that will make it feel even more like shit than before he started taking the meds.

I feel for you both. The medicine which I take to lower my anxiety and make me pleasant enough to be around that someone would want to have sex with me has had the side effect of taking away most of my drive and my ability to have an ******...

Depending on the medication, it could go back to normal. Or close to it? I'm on anti-depressants and I know that can really mess things up. My S/O is also on anti-depressants (the same one as me actually, same dose too) but is also on anxiety meds. With five kids though, sometimes we're just too darn tired for sex. It happens. Be patient!

Be careful. Psychiatric drug side effects become permanent for some. Lowered sex drive and complete impotence are now my life long after I stopped taking the generic Paxil.

Sure, because loving partners are prone to felonious assault like that. Not to mention the fact that Viagra works by helping circulation problems not all forms of impotence let alone lack of sex drive.

Please be understanding. I'm also on Medication that not only killed my Sex Drive but left me not so.. Watery (best word I could come up with). Stick with him, it will be worth it.

We must be taking the same thing! Although my sex drive was nothing to write home about even before I started taking it...I just have the extra side effect that makes sex particularly undesirable now!

At least as a woman, you can use lube and force yourself to have emotionally fulfilling, if physically uncomfortable, sex. As a guy, it's not possible to force activity when the libido and physicality is lacking.

OP. Please talk to him about it. Don't sit around and let your frustration stew. My ex-wife had the same issue with me but instead of talking about it to me, she opted to allow the frustration to stay inside, would lash out at me randomly for unrelated things, and in the end she stated cheating on me with a coworker. Got knocked up by him and everything.
