Good thing you didn't go. But if you had gone, I would have just refused to baby sit the little brats and go to something for yourself
Forget them.
Sounds like they must do that to you often. The one time they couldn't con you into babysitting they get mad. Oh well! You do have a life and a right to do your own thing.
They're just mad their trick didn't work. Hope they get over themselves. In the meantime, be happy that you got to (hopefully) do whet you wanted on Labor Day weekend instead of babysitting for free.
I've been there more times than I'd like to count. Stay strong, OP. Your family is in the wrong for trying to dictate your life.
I'm so glad you dodged that bullet. That's absolutely no way to vacation, being the convenient nanny for everyone else. And now you know to be wary of them whenever they invite you anywhere ever again. Aren't trust issues just ******* wonderful?
It's a good thing you didn't go then, serves them right for trying to dump their own kids on someone else. So selfish of them to think thats okay!
I would relish them not talking to me in that case, with family like that you're probably better off alone.
