Wow I was really surprised to be published, it made my day a bit better. I held off on commenting until I knew more about my issue. I actually went to the doctor two days after this got published. The doctor said it had happened because I had missed like 3 pills(birth control) in one month. The period continued for 3 months with 2-4 day breaks in between. I'm glad to say it's back to normal and on a regular cycle. (I'm 15)

Maybe it's time to go see a doctor?

My mum's used to be like that, could be something like PCOS, endometriosis or other disorders. Best to see a gynecologist!

Once I had a period that lasted from January 9th to February 11th. Feel lucky.

Op get that checked out. It can happen, but it's still worth getting it looked at. My cycle comes every 3 months, so I don't panic when it doesn't. If you have an IUD that could be the cause

I'm no doctor, but I don't think that's right.

Yea you might wanna see a gyno!!!!!

you should get yourself checked out since it should even last longer than week.

My REGULAR periods are nine days long. usually longer when I have them now. consider yourself lucky if you think it shouldn't last longer than a week.

That sucks... Mine last 6 days, but become so unbearable that the doctor has to drug me just so I can move.

Though the AVERAGE is 4-7 days, some women only have it last for 2, like me, while others can last up to a week and a half.

In the words of Ron Weasly, Bloody Hell!!!

Yeah, good thing she's not a brand of spaghetti sauce.

158 no you cant. You can bleed yes, period no.

#158 just stick with teddy bears.

Having weirdly long periods isn't that abnormal if you're a teenager because the body's hormones are still all over the place. If you're an adult with generally regular periods, I would go ahead and talk to your gyno. Best of luck!
