Today, it was my first day at school in the United States. Being from France, my French accent is really strong. After being made fun of all day, I met someone from Montreal. I was so excited and said, "Parlez-vous Français?" And his response? "HUH?!" FML

non, en effet il y a beaucoup de Montréalais qui ne prenne pas la peine d'apprendre le Français pour une raison ou une autre

Wow did you know that they speak French in some states of USA. No you probably didn't.

Hey don't let it bother ya! Perhaps they were just messing around with the new girl on her first day. I'm sure they'll stop picking on you soon... And if they don't... Just relax and laugh it off ya? Who cares about what others think. Besides... Accents are Hot. I'm from South America, i speak spanish, and all the girls i know from North America think it's sexy. You have an accent, enjoy it. SPECIALLY French... Such a lovely language...

OP, you should move to Texas. We're pretty nice down here (:

Depends on where you go in Texas. Being from Texas myself, I can honestly say that most of us are a bunch of right-wing rednecks that want everyone to "speak 'Mer'can".

Well we do live in America so we should speak English. I'm from Texas too and I'm SICK of seeing signs in Spanish everywhere. Texans are nicer (Dallas doesn't count. They're not real Texans) than people in most other places. I can't wait to move back there next year. People in Colorado are absolute dicks. And right wing or left wing, no party has everything right. I'm not going to get in a political discussion though for fear of the wrath of the mods.

Pauvre toi...j'habite en belgique, mais je suis irlandaise et je sais que ça doit être difficile pour toi. Attends un peu de temps, ça vais devenir plus facile ;) xoxo

He could have moved to Montreal from somewhere else. Montreal is becoming a pretty english place (very touristy, especially the East end of Montreal.) Just putting it out there :3

That sucks. I love the french language. I wish I could speak it.

It's very easy to learn if you're that determined to learn it. :)
