Today, it was my next-door neighbor's birthday. Over the past year, his pitbull has attacked my stepdad several times and put some stiches on me. Lucky for us, the dog was finally put down. For his birthday my neighbor got a new, bigger, pitbull. FML

Not all pitbulls are mean, maybe you'll get lucky and this one won't be.

this is bullshit. pits are amazing dogs, maybe its the owner whos the dumbass and raising them to be aggressive. its basically like raising a kid, teach them to rape and murder and 9 times out of 10 they'll grow up with the mindset that its ok. its people who dont understand this that give pits a bad rep, and another reason that theyre nearly outlawed.

It's not the pitties fault it's the owners. If the dog wasn't trained then and only then is it a problem. Pit bulls are 'mean breed' because of what people taught them to do. Before that they were known as nanny dogs because you could leave them alone with kids while you went out. Most pitties only have dog issues anyways. And to top it all off, besides little dogs, cocker spaniels, golden retrievers and poodles are more likely to bite then a pit bull of any kind is.

My neighbor's cocker spaniel came flying through a hole in the fence and latched onto the shoulder of my 150 lb rottweiler, who started yelping and trying to run away. Don't be an idiot about specific dog breeds, but do report the owner if he cannot control his animals whether it be a pit bull or a parakeet.

Omg! That's hilarious! I hope your dog is ok. But it's a great example of how "nice dogs" are usually meaner than the "mean and scary dogs". Love to your Rottie, though! lol

Pitbulls aren't born mean, the way they're raised forms their attitude. They get their feelings hurt very easily. I have one, and hes so sweet, hes afraid of cats.

seriously i agree with those saying that pits are not evil dogs because i own one & she is the goofiest thing in the world with a big heart it sounds like to me your neighbor is an idiot that is intentionally training his dogs to be that way so i suggest calling your local anti-cruelty society or similar organization and ask that they make regular visits not only for the safety of the neighborhood but of the dog as well. until then i would suggest being friendly toward the dog and try to establish a good relationship so it wont bite you who knows showing some kindness might actually make the dog protect your yard too because my dog not only protects my yard but the neighbors as well. good luck

IMO saying that all Pitbulls are vicious is like saying that all **Fill in minority here** people steal... think about it. It is 100% the way they are raised. I myself am the proud owner of two Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

WHY THE HELL ARE ALL YOU SAYING THAT PITBULLS CAN BE NICE!?!?! THE VICTIMS COULD SUE THE OWNER FOR THE DOG ATTACKS, DUMBASSES.

Umm...because they CAN be nice!

http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html Go to this site and I bet you fail... Yes ALL DOGS CAN BE NICE! The APBT was bred to fight other dogs, but HAD to be reliable with humans as their abusive owners didn't want to be attacked in the ring.

Obviously they can be nice, yes. I love pit bulls, I really do. But if ANY dog bit me or my family without provocation, whether it's a pit bull or a miniature poodle, the thing is getting a kick in the face and animal control will be called to get the dog euthanized because obviously the animal is unfit to be around humans. I have no idea why OP hasn't done this.

I'm assuming you have animal control on speed dial. I feel bad for the dog because they are the product of their owner but I know you can't have a dog hurting people either. it's just sad.

I have known several pit bulls. They are energetic and they like to nibble when they play. One of them (Thor) like to just hold your arm in his mouth. He never even left marks. He also liked to nibble on my fiance's facial hair. There was another pit (Roxie) that lived in the same house. She was definitely a cuddler. So, are you saying that just because some people are irresponsible and let their dog have free reign to protect what they see as their territory, that suddenly one of them will attack us? Have you seen The Dog Whisperer? Cesar Milan takes his pit bull, Daddy, with him to help train people, even families with small children. If the dog is trained right, no worries.

....why haven't you sued him?
