Today, it was our one year anniversary. After a surprise re-creation of our first date, we went home, in the mood for love. The food poisoning from the restaurant had a different idea. FML

Just give up, they're going to thumb you down no matter what you do. OP, better luck next year.

food poisoning generally won't show any effects until at least 24 hrs...

Not true, ingested bacterial toxin can manifest within 6 hours.

Omg! My bf and I are fifteen days away from our one year anniversary. I hope we don't get sick! That really sucks op I hope you feel better soon

Is this a nice town or a middle-higher income community? I feel they would be stricter than the ones I know.

omg, that's crazy! my girlfriend & I see each other sporadically, so when we were finally able to, we went to dinner & got food poisoning :| then tried to go out for drinks & the club.. wretched idea! so terribly sry. that sucks :( it's the thought that counts!

There's always tomorrow. Spend a little extra time making up for it!

Sounds more like a food allergy that you both might share. Cause sure enough if it's food poisoning it takes 12-24 hours to kick in. Look at what you ate 24 hours BEFORE the date.

Erm, no, not necessarily. Symptoms can occur as early as 2 hours after eating contaminated food. It really depends on the type of food poisoning.

We went to McDonalds for breakfast the other morning and the guy working the cash register gave us our utensils. He wore no gloves, the utensils had no plastic on them and he touched the part where we would eat off of. I was completely annoyed. My husband offered to lick the fork for me so he would get the germs and not me. It definitely should be a requirement at any restaurant for them to wear gloves when preparing and serving food and they shouldn't be allowed to handle anything food related if they are working with money, dirt or cleaning products.

It takes 24 hours for food poisoning to set in. Whatever you ate was from the night before.
