Maybe they were too large to swallow. If so, she could break them up to make it easier.
So she doesn't swallow?
"beat" me to it.
These made me giggle. xD Sorry 40 I accidently thumbed you down instead of up. :'(
Call the pharmacist about alternatives. Inability/unwillingness to swallow pills is a common problem. But don't crush or cut pills without pharmacist's OK; some metabolize wrong.
You should have taught her to swallow before you married her. :-)

I'll be honest, I have a pretty bad and irrational fear of taking pills, I'd rather be sick than take one, unless I could find another way to get the medication:/ It's an extremely annoying fear, but I have no idea how you get over something like that, I guess try to be as understanding as you can, and if hiding them is working, then at least she's getting her medicine:)
Are they hidden in a piece of cheese or a hotdog? Seriously though, depending on the antibiotic, she can get it in liquid form. Then, you can hide it in her juice.
I couldn't start swallowing pills until a couple months ago and I'm 17. I have a fear of choking so I guess If she has a similar fear I guess you kinda can't blame her.
Get over it. What are you going to do when you have something serious and have to take meds like a grownup?
I did get over my fear for the most part with the help of my friends and family. And yeah, I know but hopefully I will be healthy as an adult. As of now I don't have any health issues.
61, there are much crazier and ridiculous irrational fears than pill swallowing. Take me, driving over bridges freaks me out, and I have to commute from Cincinnati over the Ohio River into Kentucky everyday for work. Take a chill pill. /endpun
I used to be like your wife. I didn't start taking pills until I was about 16. I've always had the fear of choking, but I learned that eventually, we all have to take pills, and can't just only use children's liquid medicine. Now that I know how to take pills, life is easier. Maybe you could teach your wife to take pills from starting small, like maybe make her swallow a tic-tac, or some kind of candy small like that, and then she can work up to taking pills. However, I do think some pills are WAY too big.
Like the oversized ones you see on TV. Example: Spongebob [SquarePants].
I agree. Some pills are just ridiculous in size. When I was about 7, I was prescribed an allergy tablet that was 3x the size of a regular one. Much too big for any kid at that age.

You would think with all our technology they would make all pills in gummy form by now. Problem solved
Well, I hope she isn't taking them at a different time and overdosing. If not, that's kind of childish (if she dislikes swallowing pills) unless she doesn't believe in medicine and whatnot.
