You should do the right thing and consider her just like you would consider anyone else. Just because she is your ex doesn't mean she does not deserve a job.
Conflict of interest gives you a perfectly valid reason to deny her, especially if you are to be her superior. FYL, but it really shouldn't be a big deal.
