Fanfiction really isn't too bad, it's more of a regular story but with celebrity's names. But if there is alternate universe stories try to forget about where they're from, and just read it as a story, or announce to the class that you don't want them writing fan fiction.
Still a better love story then Twilight
I dunno, I love fanfiction and a lot of it is pretty awesome. But then again, it's not Teen Wolf, One Direction, or Doctor Who fanfiction. I've never read any of those fanfictions, but I'm just saying, Misfit by MelancholyMango on Wattpad has some awesome use of foreshadowing. However, I agree that fanfiction should probably be kept out of class unless it's either practice for analyzations or based on a book the class is reading together (we had a warm-up assignment one day where we had to predict the next chapter of a book by actually writing it).
I'm thinking you're not cut out to be a teacher.
