Today, my daughter had a meltdown when I told her I donated some of her old toys to Goodwill. It turns out Toy Story has taught her that toys have feelings and that she has a meaningful relationship with them. She's in her teens. FML

Today, at work I had to handle two selfish parents returning their adopted 6 year-old daughter to foster care because, “She doesn’t, like, fit with our lifestyle, and my mom is, like, too old to babysit her anymore and we, like, can’t afford a nanny.” I hate my job. FML

Today, I heard my 7 year-old step-daughter tell her father over Zoom she cries every night, because she wants to go home with him. I don't have the heart to tell her that he had kicked her and her mom out of the house because he thought mom's stretch marks were unattractive. FML

I hope this is sarcasm. If it isn't, WTF?! Do you really believe bio families are inherently more loving than adoptive families? That's just ridiculous— if it was true, there'd be a hell of a lot fewer kids in the world's foster systems and orphanages.

Some kids know which buttons parents are sensitive to and push them to get what they want. If she wasn't adopted, she might say "I wish I was adopted so my new family would give me more toys". or "I wish I was cause their kids give them toys on ". Parents gotta learn to deal with this stuff.

Is it just me, or are children nowadays becoming more arrogant and spoiled? Well I suppose most are. [Find iPhone app reviews on YouTube and about 55% of the reviewers sound/are 12 year olds. Hmm, how could they all obtain such a device… I wonder…]
