Today, my boyfriend and I are looking at places to stay to meet for the first time. I figured renting a small vacation apartment would be ideal because he's not able to help pay because he isn't working and I'm not rich. He's telling me he can only be comfortable in 4 star hotels. FML

Regardless of him being a douchebag for trying to get you to spend more money than you can afford - do you feel it's alright to meet a stranger in a vacation spot, probably away from your hometown? If he's your boyfriend you should be able to meet at his or your place, I mean, does he not want to know how or where you live or anything about your friends or family? This doesn't sound safe at all, please take care of yourself OP.

It's already been said many times but I just want to reiterate- why are you staying in an apartment together when you've never met? Meet in a public place like a park or restaurant etc. a few times before that.

He "can't" help pay and yet he's making extravagant demands. Can you not spot this guy is a user? Don't bother meeting him.

You see? It's not just girls who are high maintenance. Anyone can be. Ditch the spoiled brat.

He really shouldn't have demands like that when he's not paying. Might be a good idea to find someone else.

If you fall for this idiot's game then you absolutely deserve it.

Dump his sorry ass before you even meet him. I can't understand why young women will put up with a loser to just have a boyfriend. You're better off alone than with someone who just wants a sugar-mama.

How do we known this is a young woman? For all we know she could be a 60 year old widow "new to the game." Regardless, this is so risky and I can't believe someone of any age would consider this. Yes. I have done some risky things in my life but this is just so reckless.

Hopefully, you're more comfortable single.

If not, there are plenty of eligible FML bachelors!
