Today, my boyfriend and I decided to clean our apartment, and then we went out to grab a bite to eat. When we returned, I found a baby's sock in the middle of the floor. Neither of us have a baby, and nobody we know does either. Now I'm just waiting for the doll-themed nightmares tonight. FML

Hey guys, OP here! :) So, good news everyone! I'm not dead (yet). Though I almost died laughing at these comments, thanks for making my day! :D I do believe that there is a logical explanation for this odd occurrence. We do have a communal laundry room in my apartment, as many of you have suggested. The strange thing is, we live in a building that only has 8 apartments, and none of us have babies or young children. And I was not doing laundry that day at all, nor do I recall seeing the sock before we left, which was in a very noticeable spot on the floor. I saw it immediately upon our return. Soooooooo ghosts. It's definitely ghosts. *DUN DUN DUUUUUUN* The plot thickens.

Do any of your neighbors have a baby or did you have someone over recently who has a baby? Edit: never mind I just reread it. RUN

if you use community washers and dryers in the building, it's possible that someone using them before you left a baby sock in there and it got caught on your clothes and fell off as you were folding your laundry...

Probably a sock that got shrunk in the wash

Who doesn't know at least ONE person who has a baby. Highly doubt this tbh

When you were cleaning it you notice any little brown turds, it could be you have a mouse. They often carry small items to there nest. If you live in apartments, someone has a baby somewhere and the critter dragged it in.

I would install a camera. Your landlord could be breaking in while you're out.

If this was from New York I would have thought, "Well looks like 112 Ocean Avenue is back to its old tricks again."
