Today, I came home from a two-week overseas business trip. My wife was at work, but she came home for lunch. When she came in, she brushed right past me to hug and talk to her dog. When I mentioned it, she said, "But I haven't seen him all day!" FML

Today, my fiancé left for a 6-month deployment overseas. I waved him away, came back inside alone, and cried. I know this is what I signed up for, but the cat could've shown more sympathy than staring at me and walking away. FML

Today, after patiently waiting to see my boyfriend for a month because he was overseas, I excitedly went to the airport to finally pick him up, only for him to walk straight past me to greet his friends. He didn't even bring back anything for me, but brought back a suitcase full of goodies for his friends. FML

Today, my boyfriend returned from a 2-month internship in New York. As I saw him exit the plane, I imagined him running to me and kissing/spinning me around passionately like in movies. He got closer and closer, and as I opened my arms to embrace him, he runs past me saying, "BRB, I GOTTA TAKE A SHIT." FML

Exact thing I was thinking, someone commented saying that National Guard are deployed for less then 6 months. My older brother was deployed for over a year...

10?! what unit is that? I wanna join that unit!! never been deployed less than a year, bout to go on my 3rd. most intense combat tour I've done was 15 months

I would find it hard to believe that he didn't communicate in any way with you while he was gone. You also probably knew when he was getting back, the dog didn't. You should have been happy to see him being happy with his dog (who I'm sure was overjoyed) instead of ruining his reunion. It is not just a "man" thing. I do the same thing when I get home from after a month or so away and I'm a girl.
