Milk increases phlegm production. So drinking it when you have a cold? Not so smart. YDI!
always check the expiration date before drinking any milk.
Didn't you bother to read the expiration date? Also, wouldn't you be able to taste the sour milk? One last question: why would you drink milk while you had a cold? It's commonly known that milk, or any kind of dairy for that matter, thickens mucus and is especially horrible while you have a cold.
Couldnt you just not drink it?
damn, that hella sucks
Even though smell/taste is often associated and one can influence the other (as in many many examples over the years), you would have clearly seen AND tasted if the milk was off, even with a blocked nose. Unless your tongue was somehow absent on the day as well...
did the boyfriend pour the milk for OP? HE would have known it was off.
Milk does not have to be lumpy for it to be bad. It can taste really bad before it gets lumpy and separates. Also, like the OP, I cannot taste anything when I'm congested. She would not have known that the milk was off due to her congestion. Her boyfriend should have checked the milk before he gave it to her, though. Of course, he should have given her orange juice or water instead.

Am I the only one that checks the use by date? Plus couldn't you taste it?
wouldn't he know it was off?
