Im a special education teacher, and through classes, we were told to not use the term retard/retarded because it was slowly becoming politically incorrect with all the people decided it is a perfect synonym for stupid. The US in general now is using the term mentally handicap. If I were him, I wouldnt be your boyfriend anymore. Way to be disrespectful.
I am SO ******* tired of people using the word retarded like it was a hugly funny thing or a cut. you ignorant asspie! I hope you stay with this guy for a while so you can meet his brother and find out that developmentally disabled people are some of the kindest, most generous hearted people on the planet. you can become a better person and that would be good for you.
Not quite true, Qup. The handicapped are much like other people. It depends on how they are raised, like anyone else. Example: My brother. He had a stroke when he was born, and that obviously caused some problems. He is, however, a nice kid although he sometimes needs someone to step in and keep him in line. On the other side of the coin you can look at some of the Special Ed kids in my school. They know they will never get punished, so they go around hitting guys in the nuts (not joking) and swearing at the top of their lungs. They can be selfish and rude, or kind and helpful, just like anyone else. Don't generalize here.
Saying things like "They may be slow mentally, but that's okay because each and every one of them is a precious little angel whispering in God's ear" isn't as forward-thinking and helpful as you might think. They are as flawed as everyone else, as they are real people. See how that works?
I hate how people use that word. my sister is disabled and people use it as an isult. really choose a different ******* word cause your not just insulting the person your talking too
JAJAJA LMFAO THATS HILARIOUS!
what? you guessed right. if he doesn't get over that in 10 seconds there's something wrong with him.
why in GODS name would you say something like that without meeting him? YDI you dumb shit
I had about the same happen to me. I was out with a friend while two of our other friends were at the one's house and I asked why they wouldn't just leave home and come out with us. The one friend said she needed to stay home and take care of her stepdad and I joked, "Why? Is he 13?" Turns out he was handicapped and lived in a wheelchair. Ooops. I felt bad, but my friend wasn't mad. I don't think it was the first time that happened, either.
I'd probably say the same thing, so I'd be a hyporcrite to hit YDI. Don't worry, we all have moments like that in our lives.
Oh please, you never met his brother. How could you have known? It's no big deal.
why did you have to say a smart ass comment anyway? if he had to go, he had to go. i hope he dumps you.
