Why do people do stuff like this? He obviously knew you were having your things sent and that if he waited it would make things exponentially more difficult but he just had to wait...you'd think someone that spent 6 years of your life with you would be a bit more considerate. I'm sorry OP, the whole situation must be so heartbreaking :/

What a ridiculous thing to say. Some people don't believe in marriage or don't want to or even CAN'T get married. Even my grandmother isn't to her boyfriend of decades. A piece of paper doesn't make your relationship any more committed than anyone else's. Half of all marriages end in divorce and of those that don't, a good many stay married just because getting divorced is messy. OP is feeling bad enough without you claiming it wouldn't have worked, anyway, because they didn't rush into a marriage.

he has issues, besides the underlying incestuous vibe to the whole thing..but take him by his words and say family members help each other so he must ship your stuff back! ..and let him know about your male friends that you've been holding off because of him, maybe that will clear his mind and give him the nudge to know that he really doesn't want to loose you, but just did.
