I'm going to go with dodge a bullet and ditch him. You deserve someone monogamous and he deserves someone who agrees with his very interesting beliefs
Tell him there's no such thing as a relationship unless both parties agree they have one -- and you don't.
Dump his ass
Well if you are just dating that makes sense. I mean I date multiple girls until I decided to be monogamous with someone.
How is that silly? Of course you have to talk about these things! Not everyone wants the same things at the same times. You can't just assume you know what someone else is thinking. I never assume I'm in an exclusive relationship until we've talked about it and agreed we want to be exclusive. You can't just start dating someone and then go "okay, I've decided we're exclusive now. That's it. No cheating." What if they aren't ready for a serious relationship? That's not your decision, you need to talk about it.
Actually, I don't think the boyfriend is an ass. Though my relationships are always monogamous, I don't have a problem with people who think otherwise, and well, he told you about it. It's not like he's cheating on you behind your back. But yeah, if this thing is not for you, then you should break up.
Say bye

Time to break up!
at least he's being honest that he doesn't want to be in a monogamous relationship. if your not ok with being in an open relationship then time to move on.
