Today, my boyfriend's dad helped me put coolant in my car. When I said I wished I could do something in return, he told me to get an abortion so I wouldn't "ruin" his son's life. When I told my boyfriend, he didn't believe me. FML

Okay 40, you can off yourself first then. I'm a strong proponent of birth control and adoption both. But I cannot agree with abortions. If my mom had listened to the people telling her to get an abortion because it would ruin her life, well...I wouldn't be here. And her life wasn't ruined. Lots of women who get abortions end up regretting them later on. It takes a toll on you emotionally and that's something the abortionists never tell you. Oh and finally, don't off yourself. We'll probably be sending people to live on Mars in the next few decades. We'll figure something out. Just always think it's silly that people complain about the overpopulation of earth but don't want to die themselves.

well it depends on how old the OP and her bf are. maybe they are really young, maybe he gave up a great school to have the kid, so maybe the dad is worried about his sons future. it was mean and hurtful to say but I am just offering a possible reason.
