As a chemistry grad I feel for you. Nobody knows what the fart Chemistry even does. Everyone either thinks science = doctor or they think its sole purpose is drugs or explosives. Then they get disappointed when they learn of all the industrial 'boring' stuff it does.

Have him watch a few more episodes. If he honestly thinks he's as good at chemistry as Walter White, or could even come close to replicating his formula with its nearly impossible 99.1% purity, he has bigger issues.
