And now for a related story, from SeaGhile! A few years ago my dad showed me a nest of birds which had perched in the rafters above our pool. We watched them hatch and grow with intrigue. A few months later, I asked about what had happened to the birds. The mother had been eaten by the dog. One baby tried to fly, fell in the pool and drowned. The other babies died too, although I don't remember how, and there was at least one stillbirth. Life is so depressing, isn't it! -SeaGhile
