Today, my cat died. But, before he could bite the dust, he left a goodbye present on my bed: a decapitated baby rabbit. FML

A farewell gift? Sad that you almost seem more concerned about the decapitated rabbit gift than your cat dying =(

Cats do that to show their loyalty. So, he was actually giving you one last thanks for caring for him.

YDI for owning (or having owned, I guess) a cat

Cats think if they bring "presents" home, the owner will be proud. He wanted you to be proud of him. Aww kitty :-(

Cats do that to show their love for you. Think of it like this: You're a cat living in the wild where food is hard to come by and another cat who you travel with shows their love for you by catching and giving you their food. You'd be pretty thankful right? Your cat was saying thank you for looking after and caring for them. =) Hey at least you didn't wake up to a dead snake next to you one morning! That's what my cat caught one day... I have a phobia of snakes :S

Maybe it was a gift of appreciation for all you've done?
