Today, my cute coworker begged me to cover his shift tomorrow, and told me that he wanted to take me to dinner to make up for it. I was very excited because I've been crushing on him for a long time. I later overheard him tell his friend that he didn't plan on showing up for our dinner. FML

You've been had! Tell the same coworker, within earshot of your crush, that you don't plan on showing up for his shift.

then you don't plan on showing up for his shift.

Here's what you do. Call the guy 5 mins before the dinner. Say you can't show and make up an excuse. Go out, party with friends. Take photos (with time stamps), post them on FB and make sure he see's them. And then bitch about him to a common friend/co-worker about how he's lame and that you would never want to see him outside of work. You WIN.

Nice one. You must have been thru a lot to think of that. Lol.

Obviously some people don't have jobs, or else they'd know that not showing up is deadly. More than likely a manager was informed of the switch. And if she didn't show up, their employment could call the guy and he could say she was supposed to cover... in which both of them get in trouble. OP, just do it this once, and make the cash. Never cover his shift again, and warn co-workers that he doesn't keep his end of the bargain when he asks others to cover for him.

You should wait till the last minute and say you can't cover his shift because you've got a hot date and that he better make reservations for just himself. Or shit on his desk. Either way its a win.

He probably learned that trick from a woman. I have seen way too many women do exactly the same thing.

#55 Oh, EvilDave. You and your usual woman-hating antics. When will you learn that not all women are treasonous snakes? The same goes for men. Not all women are bitches, and not all men are jackasses. Being a jerk isn't restricted to just one gender or the other. Being mean has no gender limits...

I don't see a problem here... cause now you know he's an asshole, and not worth your time liking him. (y)

Tell him that you went to dinner and you're sorry he couldn't be there, but you were the 10000th customer and won free dinner for a year or a TV or something.

dont tell anyone you wont show up for his shift just dont show up
