Today, my dad and I had an hour-long conversation. When he was getting up to leave my room he said, "Good talk Chelsey." My sister is Chelsey. So I corrected him. He thought I was joking. My father can't tell my sister and I apart. We are not twins. FML

Whatever, Chelsea. You won't fool me!

This is when you do something really bad, and blame Chelsea.. "No dad, it was Chelsea!" *points sheepishly at unsuspecting sister*

You should hit him up for Chelsey's allowance. Later, hit him up for Anonymous's allowance and say you will give it to her. You may be the forgotten sister, so you may as well be the rich one!

Now we know who the favorite is

My dad did the same thing. I am 6 years younger than my sister.

Some people have a disorder where their brain cannot tell people apart based on faces. They don't always realize they have this problem because they find other ways of getting through life without knowing why some things are difficult. If you two have the same hair and voice, and he has this difficulty, he won't know which is which.

For anyone who is interested, this is called prosopagnosia, or face blindness. It happens more often than anyone realizes. I actually have a friend with this, I have to tell her who I am every time I see her or she doesn't recognize me.

You sure he wasn't sipping on beers during that talk?

It's my sister and me. Would you say, "he can't tell me apart.." or "he can't tell I apart"?

I'm glad a fellow grammar pedant pointed this out so I didn't have to. Bravo!

You wouldn't say either...you'd say 'he can't tell me from..' or 'he can't tell us apart'. You can't 'tell someone apart'.

But when you're talking about both people then yes, you can say that and yes, it would be 'my sister and me'. I wasn't trying to have a go at you, was genuinely just trying to work out if you were joking or not.

53, yeah, I know, but I was just trying to put it in the exact context of the FML.

It's fine, I was just a bit too literal at first, sorry. :)

I know how you feel my father does the same thing and also confuses me with my brothers. I don't even look like a dude.
