It baffles me how many stories in here are about jackass parents, who in one way or another screw their kids by breaking/taking their stuff, using their money or making completely unreasonable demands. OP, I hope you find some way of telling your dad that what he did was beyong stupid, and something one might expect from one's 11-year-old brother, not one's (presumably) grown up father.

Yeah, if I were in his place and even if I had no idea water wrecked electronics (yeah, right) then I would at least understand that it was my responsibility as my actions directly resulted in the device no longer being functional. I'm almost certain that if you told this to any of your other relatives, they'd side with you and maybe even give Daddy Dumbest a little verbal ass kicking. Also, who the hell needs extra amusement in the shower? It's not like you're not occupied with other things. I dunno, by default, I treat most fmls as if they're real, but I wouldn't be surprised if this one was fake.

I would implore your mum to intervene on your behalf. She cannot be AS redonkulous as your dad is. Get the cash for the iPad from her. If all else fails, pawn his sh!t for the money. More revenge, less fatherly stupidity. +/-
