Today, my Dad sat me down and told me that I was adopted. I was unbelievably shocked by this revelation and asked him why he'd never told me this before. His response was, "I didn't know!" FML

Today, I found out that I was not adopted and in fact my parents are my biological parents. How did I find out? Over dinner. How long have I been believing I was adopted? 22 years. Why did I start believing I was adopted? My siblings thought it would be a funny joke. My mom played along. FML

Maybe it's just me reading to many dramatic stories but maybe, OP, your mom was pregnant and had a miscarriage while your dad was away cause military purposes and didn't want your dad to be sad and come home to find no child so she adopted you.

Okay so this actually happened to someone i know what happened in her case though was that the mum adopted her then got with her dad a year later (dunno what happened to whoever she was with when she first adopted her) the dad loved her and didnt want to tell her that he wasnt her real dad. Her dad didnt know she was adopted, thought she was his wifes kid and the only reason he found out was because he was divorcing her mum and it came out it the custody hearing thingy... so maybe it was something like that? minus the divorce part

Not possible!! There is paperwork involved, BOTH of your currant parents would have had to sign , not to mention the pre adoption interviews. Totally bogus, untrue. BTW - I was adopted, so I would know.
