Today, my daughter asked me the difference between "their" and "they're". This is the same child I've been spending thousands of dollars on to send to law school. FML

"You're" daughter is going to be fine :)

one who asks questions is foolish for five minutes, one who doesn't is foolish forever

Well she's not great with vocabulary. It's not like her entire career will be predicated on reading documents and understanding their vocabulary to win arguments and cases... Oh wait! It is.

Send her to a school in a foreign country for a while. Nearly all of them teach -and explain- to kids the grammar of English (this precise point is grade 7 level where I am).

could be that she just wanted to double check if she did understand the difference between the two. like sometimes I think I know how to spell a word but I'm not 100% sure, so I ask.

And see parents, this is why it's important to read to your kids and not just throw money at them

This is why you do not assume your kids are going to become someone you want them to be.

Just cause she asked the difference doesn't mean she's not smart... You're pretty stupid if she's gonna be a lawyer and is smart enough to get into the program and think its bad that she doesn't know the difference.. How old is the kid anyways? :/ -__-
