I think she did the right thing by telling OP, and I hope The FML is not that her daughters a lesbian, just that she came out in a really weird way.

Shes trying to tell you with out any conflict she loves you just be happy that she told you and don't be ashamed of her that's your baby girl no matter who she dates

Why is this an FML? What about your daughter's orientation makes YOUR life suck? She probably came out indirectly because she was afraid of you have a negative reaction and you're just proving her fears. - A lesbian who came out to her mom via Facebook message out of fear
