You should have considered what your daughter genuinely need if you do love her.
Maybe it was more that her things were given away without her permission. There may have been genuine attachment to them. I've had that happen to me several times with people giving away my old stuff. I kept it around for a reason but they felt my opinion and wants were irrelevant. That said, if she was truly upset because she believes they have feelings and will be hurt that they were abandoned...well...wow.

she may not have a "relationship" with them, but they have some centimental (however you spell it) value to her. its also attatched to her childhood, so they might be important in that way :P
