I have a friend that cuts herself and I have am "emo" friend. The friend that cuts herself listens to Katy perry and all the "popular" crappy music and dresses in hollister and "popular" crappy clothes. My "emo" friend is one of the happiest people I know but still dresses in "emo" clothes and listens to the music of the style as well as goth music yet she is still incredibly happy and does not cut herself.

Self harm is when a person is depressed and doesn't know what else to do. It's a coping mechanism. And I'm sure everyone goes through a stage where they are upset. I did.
